Rolls are spin casted from high strength alloys, and are fluted to customer specifications, depending on the end product, and the stage of milling. Fluting specifications should be provided in both the Flutes per Inch (FPI) and the spiral angle (º) For technical datasheets see here: MRCR – Roller Crusher 200mm MRH – Roller Mill Hurricane The different combinations available are A single roller pair – as just a crusher – in both 200mm roll length and 500mm roll length. Usually used for crushing of maize and similar products, where the product is just to be cracked – also known as a cracker, or a crumbler – when it is used to crumble feed pellets. These systems do not have the integrated eccentric sifter A Double roller pair – also known as a two stage mill – where the mill has two pairs of rollers, with product passing through both rollers, and then running over an integrated eccentric sifter to sift out bran, oversized particles, and good flour. A Triple roller pair – or a three stage mill, where the mill has three pairs of rollers (split into a single section and a double section) and two eccentric sifters, with the top single stage milling, and running over an eccentric sifter, and with the oversized particles then passing to the second stage, where they are milled again and sifted again A Quad roller pair – or a four stage mill, where the mill has four pairs of rollers (split into 2 x two double sections) and two eccentric sifters, with the top double stage milling, and running over an eccentric sifter, and with the oversized particles then passing to the second stage, where they are milled again and sifted again. The reason for more stages, is to have a better yield and quality coming from the milling process. The integrated sifters can be used as a preliminary split for taking off different grades of meal/flour, as well as removing bran, reducing the strain on the fial sifting process. The roller mills are, as a rule, included in super maize mill plants and wheat plants, as the roller mill provides an even and accurate milling process, producing very little fines and oversized end product, when compared to other milling systems, like hammer mills and plate mills. The roller mill can be used for milling of a wide range of products, including maize, wheat, soy beans (also for dehulling of soy beans).
